Privacy on this website

Version 1.0, 16 October 2026.

The short version

This website is for transport operators, not riders. The only personal information it collects is what you type into the enquiry form. We use it to reply to you, keep your enquiry in our own system in Queensland for 7 years unless you ask us to delete it sooner, and do not sell it, share it for marketing or send it overseas. Copies in our email, our phone system and our backups are explained below.

Who we are

DyCom Group Queensland Pty Ltd (ABN 33 163 125 371), trading as DyComDrive. On this page, “we” means the company. Contact Bruce Muir at bruce@dycomgroup.com.au or on 07 3558 1076, or write to us at 27 Dugong Crescent, Banksia Beach QLD 4507.

The law we follow

We are a small business. Small businesses are generally not required by the Privacy Act 1988 to have a privacy policy. We have one anyway. We use the Australian Privacy Principles in that Act as our standard for handling your information.

Every promise on this page is a promise we make to you, and you can hold us to it.

What we collect

Only what you type into the enquiry form: your name; your business or organisation, if you give it; your email address and phone number (at least one); your state; where you are up to; how many vehicles you have; what you are interested in; and your message.

With it we record the date and time you sent it, which page of this site you sent it from, and how you reached the site (for example, from a link, or directly).

To stop automated spam, the website also holds the network address the form was sent from, in memory only and for no more than 15 minutes. It is never stored with your enquiry.

Like most websites, the server that sits in front of this site keeps a log of requests to it, including the network address each request came from. That log is on our own server in Queensland and is used only to keep the site running and secure.

Please do not send us copies of licences, certificates or other personal documents through the form. If we need to see something, we will ask how you would like to share it.

Why we collect it

To reply to you, to prepare for a conversation about your service, and, if you become a client, to start your file. We do not use it for anything else. We do not add you to a mailing list.

Where it is kept

On our own servers in Queensland, in the database behind this website. Every night we back it up, so nothing is lost if a computer fails. The backups are kept on our own equipment in Queensland and with Datto, in Australia. Datto is a backup service. We have not set a date for deleting the backups kept with Datto.

When an enquiry arrives, our system sends a notification to Bruce’s phone that says only that a new dycomdrive.com enquiry has arrived. It does not contain your name, your contact details or your message. On its way to the phone, the notification passes through push notification services that may be overseas (the phone maker’s, and the one our home-automation system uses), and that is why it carries none of your information. Bruce reads the enquiry itself in our own system.

When we reply

We reply within 48 hours, by email from bruce@dycomgroup.com.au or by phone. Our email is Microsoft 365, kept in Australia. Calls go through our phone system, 3CX, hosted in Australia (Sydney), which keeps a record of the number that called and when.

Calls to 07 3558 1076 may be recorded. A recorded call is transcribed by AI on our own systems, not by an overseas service. The recordings and transcripts are kept on our phone system in Sydney. Copies may also be kept on our own systems in Australia, where the transcribing is done.

Our email and our phone system, including those recordings and transcripts, are also backed up by Datto, a backup service, in Australia. We have not set a date for deleting the recordings, the transcripts or those backups.

Who sees it

Bruce, and anyone at DyCom Group Queensland who helps with your enquiry. We do not sell it, rent it or give it to anyone for their marketing. We would only disclose it if the law required us to.

The services that hold copies for us are Microsoft 365 (our email) and 3CX (our phone system, including call recordings and transcripts), both in Australia, and Datto (backups of this website’s database, our email and our phone system), in Australia.

Does anything go overseas?

We do not send any of your information overseas, and all of it is stored in Australia. The form, the database, the backups, our email and our phone system, including call recordings and their transcripts, are all in Australia. Calls are transcribed on our own systems, not by an overseas service, and this website loads no fonts, scripts or trackers from overseas services. Microsoft, 3CX and Datto keep our copies in Australia. Under their own terms, their support staff may be able to reach those copies from overseas, for example to fix a fault. The new-enquiry notification to Bruce’s phone may pass through overseas notification services, but it contains none of your information.

This website

This website sets no cookies for visitors. We count visits with our own analytics, which runs on our own server in Queensland, sets no cookies, collects no personal identifiers and shares nothing with third parties. It records the pages visited, the site you came from, your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and approximate location, without storing your network address, and which links on this site are followed (for example, to a story, a package or the rider site). On the enquiry form it also counts when a form is started, left unfinished (and the last question reached), restored from your browser, or sent, with how you reached the site and the stage, state and interests chosen; never your name, contact details or message.

While you fill in the form, your answers are saved in your own browser so you do not lose them if you are interrupted. They are cleared when you send the form, and you can clear them at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser. We cannot see them until you send.

How long we keep it

We keep your enquiry for 7 years from when you send it, then delete it from our system. If you become a client, we also keep it with your client records for as long as the law requires us to keep those.

You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner, at any time. Email bruce@dycomgroup.com.au or ring 07 3558 1076, and we will delete it from our system, unless the law requires us to keep it, and tell you when it is done. Copies already in our backups stay there. The backups kept with Datto, including the backups of our email and phone system, have no set deletion date, and so do the recordings and transcripts of any calls with us.

Seeing, correcting or deleting what we hold

Ask us at bruce@dycomgroup.com.au or on 07 3558 1076. Asking is free, and so is a correction. Before we show you anything, we check it is really you, usually by replying to the email address or phone number in your enquiry. We will answer within 30 days. We will tell you what we hold, correct anything that is wrong, and delete it if you ask, unless the law requires us to keep it. If we ever say no, we will tell you why in writing, and how to complain.

If you become a client

Your riders’ information, and the rest of the records in your system, would belong to you, not to us. We would hold them for you as your service provider, in Australia, under a written service agreement, and hand them all back if you left. Your riders’ privacy would be covered by your own privacy policy, not this one.

If something goes wrong

If your information is ever lost or seen by someone who should not see it, and it could cause you harm, we will tell you what happened and what you can do about it. We will do this whether or not the law requires us to.

If you are unhappy

Contact Bruce first, at bruce@dycomgroup.com.au, on 07 3558 1076 or by post to 27 Dugong Crescent, Banksia Beach QLD 4507. We will let you know we have your complaint within 2 working days, and give you our answer within 30 days.

If we cannot sort it out between us: the Australian Information Commissioner generally does not handle complaints about small businesses like ours. You can take the matter to a court. The Queensland Government’s Dispute Resolution Centres give free help to talk it through with a neutral person, on 1800 017 288.

Changes to this page

We will change this page when we change how this website works, give it a new version number and put the date on it.
